Laziness will surely attack you...you just need to defeat it with energy:)

Defeating Laziness Laziness infected her blood cells Her mind and hands did not coordinate She wanted to pen down her thoughts But her plan did not work. Dreadful thoughts oppressed her mind Tears rolled down her eyes Soon she realized that it was time to write And she sternly ordered her mind and hand to harmonize. ©songbriti

Realization through a sight

Conversion of a sight to a lesson of realization:) Cribbing about things not going the way we want it to go. Isn’t it a common scenario of human nature? I was trapped in a similar situation yesterday when my mind was annoyed over something and brisk-walking, stress eating or music nothing really got my mood to the right track. I was rushing back to my hostel after dinner around 9pm. The sight of an old man sleeping outside the temple right next to my college was an eye-opener. He slept amidst the garbage thrown outside the temple. He slept peacefully and that is what struck my eyes. I don’t know if he was a drunkard or a poor man. But at that moment I realized my mood deserved to be better than it was. And I walked back to my hostel with a smile and my mood was on the right track. ©songbriti

Since I love children, I decided to write a story for all those little angels:)

The Glass Doll Prince “Granny, where is my gift?” said Ashley as she cut her birthday cake. Ashley lived with her grandmother in a small house at East Fjords. Ashley was a very helpful and pretty young girl. People in the village called her Cherry as her cheeks were as red as cherries. Her grandmother was her family and her best friend too. “I have got you a glass doll prince for your birthday Cherry”, said Ashley’s grandmother who worked at a toy factory. Ashley was overwhelmed with the gift she received from granny. “You are the best granny, I love my gift a lot”, said Ashley as she kissed her granny with joy. She named the glass doll prince Gabriel as granny always told her stories about the Gabriel angel. Ashley loved her doll Gabriel and she took him along with her wherever she went. The doll prince had a golden ring which sparkled in the sunlight. The next day in the afternoon, granny asked Ashley to fetch some water from the pond. The pond was a little far from their house

I just pen down whatever comes to my mind:)

The Observer I stand amidst the crowd, Observing the rush around. Running, pushing, falling and running again Is all what I witness around? I want to stop them. I feel an urge to enquire from that man, Why is he rushing like a nomad? And if this race is even worth it? Then my mind asks me stop. As it advice's me to let time do the job. And I stand amidst the crowd, Just to observe the happenings around. ©songbriti

Journey of a spark to a fire of thought

How every microscopic situation evokes a thought! After a strenuous day I park myself to share a thought. The thought struck my mind today while I was playing the Flappy Fish game. The game gives you immense satisfaction even if you can cross just five to ten levels. You must have heard the saying “Nothing is easy”, the same is applied to the game which annoys you to the fullest before you learn to get to the top level of it. I definitely don’t guarantee that the game has completely stimulated me to face all challenges with interest or has changed me overnight; it is just a game after all. But fairly declaring; to an extent it did teach me that success requires patience and focus. Sometimes the most mindless games or even situations for that matter give you a food for thought.  Isn't  it??   ©songbriti

Sometimes it's good to keep it short.

Inspired by the words of Percy Byshe Shelley, "He touched. She blushed". Staring constantly at the moon, her action was questioned and assumed as "dreaming". She replied, " Aiming " not " Dreaming ". She snatched away the slightest tinge of life within him. His breathe was now a myth to him. He turned into a living stone, never to revive again. She had the best dress for the King's ball party but believing that the grass is greener on the other side, she voluntarily gave her luck wings to fly. The rapids of its egoistic force swept and dragged him into itself. His screams were silenced within no time. All that was left was a powdery residue which immersed forever. ©songbriti

I wish I was a child forever:)

The unconditional joy Children, aren't they the most innocent living beings? They possess what I call pure cuteness which evokes some kind of reflex for you to love them. That unconditional love when they hold your hands to walk an unknown path. The trust they have in you when you play with them or rock them to sleep, having complete faith that you will protect them. When you are with them you will enjoy the essence of heaven. Children are little angels who constantly remind you that innocence, happiness, trust and love are not illusions. I wish childhood remained constant. ©songbriti

The labyrinth of confusion.

The confusing decision Have you ever faced a dilemma? That phase when you are standing at a point where the road ends and its further division gives you a compulsory choice. You are unaware of the road which will lead to your destiny. Two options are projected in front of you and your mind keeps wandering "what if I choose the wrong path?". Questions pour down like clouds waiting to get rid of the sky. The road which you desire calls out to you. The other road silently screams that happiness is not confined to yourself. The fear that one wrong step would fetch unwanted consequences prevents your feet from taking a step ahead. The situation is like a confusion you face while walking within a labyrinth. You fold your hands and wish someone gave you the magic wand to set things right. ©songbriti

I believe....everyone has a Superman in their life.

Addiction and my perception about it.

Addiction :  A different side of the coin “Addiction”, the first few words that trigger most of our minds in association with the word is alcohol, cigarette, cocaine and other drugs. Looking at the other side of the coin led me to associate words like chocolates, coffee, Facebook, mobile phones, play station, friendship and reading books with addiction . The former association is a stereotype that many individuals have. Addiction basically means being obsessed with a particular substance, thing or even activity. Usually people link addiction to alcoholism and smoking but it can also be related to the very ordinary things in life. Addiction takes birth without us realizing this fact many times. An example to support my statement is; a child in his initial stages is introduced to chocolates. Later his parents take the help of chocolates to convince him to do a task. The chocolate acts as a source of reinforcement to the child. Gradually the child becomes used to eating excessive ch

How luxury inspired me to write this incident.

“I wish I had….” “I wish I had….” These words are a fragment of our colloquial language and regrets are a part of life. “Lavishness” is one cake which everyone loves to eat with a cherry of “laziness” added to it. Technology has pampered us to the infinite extent and I feel I am one of those who make complete use of it. “Central Block” the most sophisticated and eminent building of my college. The gigantic structure is lionized for the ten storeys it possesses. It is 11am and concurrently is a Saturday afternoon. The time when my mind plans what I would do after 12pm. Saturdays are my favorite primarily because I have college just till 12 pm  and the secondary reason being the next day which is a day when I can plan my schedule independently. In colleges you’d better get habituated to Continuous Internal Assessments ( CIA s ). Not even two weeks since college re-opened for the third semester.  I think I had a rough idea regarding the statistic of work that would increase in the

Some stories are a disguise of real life incidents.

“It spun their fate…” They shared a bond which was stronger than the ones connected with genes or blood. Rahul and Diya were teenagers who lived in St. Mary’s orphanage at Kolkata, ever since they came into the world. Rahul was 16 and Diya two years younger than him. Diya found an elder brother and a true friend in Rahul. Rahul and Diya believed in creating happiness and they created it in each other’s company. One day an enemy spun their fate. It was a Sunday morning, Rahul and Diya usually went to river Hooghly every Sunday for boating. Unfortunately, it was different this Sunday as Diya was not going to accompany Rahul. The God-made siblings were not in talking terms for almost a week and that was the first time Rahul decided that he would not make the first move. “This time Diya has to decide if she wants her brother or is that thing more important to her”, Rahul said to himself and went boating alone. Diya realized that her brother was more important than her Ego. It was t

When someone asks me about my strength and weakness...I have the same reply for both...."Mom"..

A few instances just come and go but before it fades it triggers my writing cells to respond to it....

The value of five It was a day like any other indiscriminate day at college. Earphones accompanying me on my way back to hostel or I’d rather say “second home”. I share a sort of connection with hostels since I spend most of my life till now in them. Memories at college or school campus with a hostel are what I always relish. Reverting the limelight back to the topic I commenced with, it was a Wednesday and I felt immensely lethargic when the clock struck  4 pm . The class timetable on that particular Wednesday was slightly different. The Holistic Education class was substituted to a free hour, during which my friends and me usually kill time chit-chatting over some junk food in the evergreen campus of our college. Paying attention in class is not what I find difficult but taking part in the discussions conducted is something I always avoid unless the teacher makes it obligatory or if it’s my favorite subject and teacher. And in a class like Holistic Education (HEd) I always s

Moments captured by words.

Smiling Cries Saturated with the dew drops of pain Her lips struggled to stretch Facial expressions changed for the crusade A crusade against the piercing agony. Beats went faster and her heart felt better She ran till the desolation was out of her system Surrounded by serene silence She found a domicile to screech and scream. The page turned over It was time for a new lesson Pages of life are flipped each day With smiling cries that are a part of the volatile voyage. ©songbriti
